Palo Alto, Calif., in the heart of Silicon Valley. Here, Dr.
Weiss was the medical leader of the core teams that
successfully completed the clinical studies required to
generate three New Drug Applications (NDA). The approval of
these three new therapies by the United States Food and Drug
Administration (FDA) has improved the lives of thousands of
patients suffering from psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, and
seborrheic dermatitis.
A

the valedictorian at Nova High School, before going on to
graduate Yale University cum laude and the Duke
University School of Medicine. During medical school, Dr.
Weiss was chosen to participate in the Clinical Research
Training Program at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in
Bethesda, MD. At the NIH, Dr. Weiss completed a fellowship in
Bioethics and earned a Masters Degree (MHSc) in Clinical

Cancer Institute (NCI), Dr. Weiss conducted one of the first
studies to investigate the impact of psoriasis on quality of
life.
Upon
graduation from medical school, Dr. Weiss was selected to be a
Resident-Physician in the Department of Dermatology at the
Stanford University School of Medicine. One of the most
prestigious departments in the nation, the Stanford University
Department of Dermatology consistently ranks among the top 5
in NIH research funding. During these three years, Dr. Weiss
received training from many of the country’s most noted
professors of medical, aesthetic, and surgical dermatology,
including Mohs’ Micrographic Surgery, a specialized form of
surgery for cancers of the skin.
During
residency, Dr. Weiss was actively involved in the Stanford
clinical research unit and served as a sub-investigator on
some of the clinical trials that helped to bring several novel
therapies for the treatment of psoriasis to patients. His
efforts resulted in numerous publications and presentations at
major medical meetings. In his second year of residency, Dr.
Weiss received the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS)
resident-research award.
Dr.
Weiss has returned to his home-state of Florida where he
brings to his patients the academic approach to the practice
of medicine learned throughout his education at some of the
world’s top universities. Dr. Weiss is a Fellow of the
American Academy of Dermatology and a Diplomate of the
National Board of Medical Examiners. He is among the

In
addition to his activities in clinical medicine and research,
Dr. Weiss maintains an avid and active lifestyle. He enjoys
sailing, kayaking, skiing, and diving, and his return to
Florida will allow him to enjoy many of these activities
year-round. He is an avid supporter of the arts and
participates in the young professional societies of the Boca
Art Museum and the Kravis Center.
